Creation of Garment Clusters : MAVIM
Brief Information about project
The Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal implements various schemes of Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra (hereinafter after referred to as the “MAVIM”). Under these schemes there is a provision of empowering Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) through training and providing Employment to trained women. These schemes are implemented through District MAVIM offices.
District MAVIM Office Yavatmal has been assigned a project for creation of Garment Cluster and imparting skill training & employment generation for women form Darwha, Ner and Degras talukas of the district. Under this scheme District MAVIM Office Yavatmal invited awarded tender to Sus garment artisans association for “Selection of agency for imparting Employment Generation Training to Women from Darwha, Ner & Digras Taluka of Yavatmal District under Garment Cluster Creation & Skill Training Plan.
On March 6, 2024, we inaugurated the first garment cluster project with Mahila Artikh Vikas Mahandal in Dhamngaom Dev Tal – Darwha Dist- Yavtamal.
The chief guest of the event was the Hon’ble Mr. Sanjay Rathod, Cabinet Minister of State Soil and Water Conservation Maharashtra State. Other distinguished guests included the Hon’ble Mrs. Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Chairperson of Maharashtra Legislative Council, and the Hon’ble Mr. Ranjan Wankhede, Senior District Coordinator officer of Yavatmal District. Training For Beneficiaries: We have covered theory subjects and topics and as part of Skill Mission India, Practical training given to women, food facility was also provided to students. We also provided transport facility to them.
